Penny pioneered movements and entrepreneurship in many fields. As a veteran of a successful wealth management practice, she leveraged on her expertise and vast networks to create social businesses and platforms for a better world on a local and global scale. Amongst others, she founded the Social Innovation Park, which is responsible for many tv and radio programs, significant forums and social innovators platforms that influenced hundreds of social entrepreneurs and impacted thousands of people. Also co-founded the Social Enterprise Association which houses the national platform for social enterprises in Singapore.

A veteran Singapore Member of Parliament who helped build the first eco-town in the tropics - which has since been designated to become the largest township in Singapore. She sits on many national committees covering the Parliament Estimates Committee, Ministries of finance/trade and industry, education/ national development/ environment & water resources/ information/ arts, culture, community and youth. She chaired the Government Parliamentary Committee for the Ministry of Communications and Information.

She had oversight of 3 universities as a Governing Council member of the Singapore Institute of Management and member of the Yale World Fellows Advisory Board. Penny published many articles and books, including the ‘Top 50 Social Innovations Changing Our World” and ‘Practising Sustainability.

She sits on global boards of The Dubai Hub, Larta Institute (USA), Operation Hope (USA), Project Flame (Hong Kong), the National Youth Achievement Award Council Advisory Board (Singapore), raiSE (board and investment committee).Penny was honored with many prestigious global awards, including being founding member of the acclaimed World Economic Forum’s New Asian Leaders and the Forum of Young Global Leaders, a Founding Curator of the Global Shapers Community, Aspen Ideas Festival Scholar, Yale World Fellow & Scholar, NTU-Lien Legacy Fellow- an alumnus of NUS, Harvard, Yale and Tsinghua University.
