H.E. Xie Feng, born in April 1964, graduated from China Foreign Affairs University. Earlier in his diplomatic career, he served in a number of positions, including as Attaché of West European Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Third Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Malta, Deputy Director and Director of North American and Oceanian Affairs Department, MFA, Counsellor and Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in the US, and Counsellor and Deputy Director-General of North American and Oceanian Affairs Department, MFA. In 2008, he took the position of Minister and DCM of the Chinese Embassy in the US. He became Director-General of the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs, MFA in 2010. In 2014, he was appointed China’s 11th Ambassador to Indonesia. In June 2017, he became the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

H.E. Xie is married with one son.
